It’s been less than a week since the music industry lost the up and rising stars of Defying Atmosphere and already tragedy has struck again. This time it was one of Pride’s artists, the cellist from the heavy metal band MANTICORE, known as Superbia Squalo. MANTICORE’s manager tweeted the news late Friday night from a Moscow hospital. Squalo had reportedly been in a bar fight and sustained serious injuries. Shortly after arriving at the emergency room doctors pronounced him dead.

This weekend has been rough for Sevetop Entertainment and the producers of LBC’s Fairy Trials as local network officials discuss whether or not to continue airing reruns of this season’s episodes as originally planned. The show itself has all the ratings and fanbase to keep its Friday night time slot throughout the summer. This isn’t a discussion about cancellation or the next season premiering in Fall. No this is a serious decision in the wake of tragedy.

The Next Fairy Trial's Going to Be 10 Outta 10

By: Waresda Rimote

March 11th, Sevetop Entertainment held auditions for their hit show "Fairy Trials." Many people were yanked off the streets for a chance to play, but it's not going to be for the usual fairy tale themed challenges. To celebrate ten fun years of magical mayhem, your favorites from Pride Records and Virgo Entertainment are also participating! What roles will they play? What stories will be used?

I got a chance to sit in on the auditions on behalf of Vista City News. Contestants had to share their favorite fairy tale and show their talents. There were the usual feats of strength. Some said jokes. A few let sport skills do the talking.

Here's one that caught my eye. Sweet and demure Maria Cozarto showed her skills with makeup on other participants and some musicians. A strange talent to show for sure, but I wish her all the luck. If she doesn't get in, I'd love to have this cutie do my makeup.

We had a number of contestants who thought they were on "Dancing Over the Skies" because many showed off their dancing talents. There was the beautiful Severin Dufour showing his graceful ballet skills. (His looks should have also been a talent.) Jeremy Stone danced waltz with fellow participant picked right from stage, but despite that, they were in sync perfectly. Serena Lapin showed off her ballroom dancing with musicians as her partners. I wish I could have been in her shoes.

Which of these hopefuls will be picked for the gameshow? Are the number of dancers a hint to what kinds of stories will be used? Tune in on March 21st and find out.

Flowers Over Bones’ Pao-Lin Endorses Fried Chicken Restaurants
By Rick Role

Miss Pao-Lin Huang has gained a reputation as the cutest and hungriest of the members of the hit band Flowers Over Bones. If you’ve ever seen her perform in her almost dance-like percussion style, it shouldn’t shock you that with all that movement and energy that she naturally needs her nutrition to keep moving. Between the popularity of her band and their recent flash performance at Brad’s Diner in Vista City, it was no surprise when food sponsors started to line up and bid on the young percussionist’s blessings.

It was chicken, more accurately the fried chicken fast food chain Kung POW Chicken that won Pao-Lin’s first official endorsement. (Brad’s could be considered Flowers Over Bones’ first food endorsement but since the diner is not a sponsor it’s not quite as official a deal in the eyes of Virgo and some fans.) Other bidders that lost but might receive future endorsements include Coldcone Icecream and Taco Hell.

Flowers Over Bones fans will be excited to hear that plans are already in motion to feature Pao-Lin in an upcoming commercial for the chain and it’s rumored the rest of the band might appear in it as well. Kung POW Chicken has announced that they are developing a new recipe for a spicy fried chicken plate that will be named in Miss Huang’s honor. Still no word on what the included side dishes might be but judging by the graphics accompanying the announcement Pao-Lin’s signature flower, the aster, will be decorating the plates and cups at Kung POW restaurants very soon.

Metal Artists to Release Pop Rock Love Song Albums
By Rick Role

MÄNTICORE and pop rock love songs. It might sound strange to use them in the same sentence together but there’s a high likelihood that it will soon be a regular occurrence. An inside source at Pride Records has informed us that the rumors are true: side albums are being produced featuring two of MÄNTICORE's own, and neither album is expected to fall into the metal or hard rock genre.

Genos, the lead singer of MÄNTICORE, and Roy Mustang the newly instated lead guitarist, have been seen walking in and out of recording studios to perform songs they've been writing for these side projects. The songs for these albums have been described as mostly pop rock and mostly love ballads, something closer to the material we would have expected from Flashstep. It’s anyone’s guess what inspired the two rock stars to write so many love songs but more importantly were the results any good?

We were sent a preview of a couple tracks from each of the two albums. Here’s what we thought:
