WILDFLOWERS AND WAREHOUSES: INSIDE ARAMAT'S LUXURY LOFT
By: Emilia Reese

In Vista City's 'Art District' near the coastline there's no shortage of creatives and bohemians willing to buck the common trend of livable space and prefer to convert various old commercial spaces into truly unique art studios, new businesses and yes, homes. One of which a Pride Records artist, Aramat Drawdes of Crown of Thorns is renting a loft. But not just any loft.

This loft was formerly owned by renowned artist Maxwell Dixon, who much like the pianist was a Southern Americana transport to Vista City and one of the first to convert old industrial and commercial space into something livable. Before Dixon came it was an old warehouse that stored medical supplies. He turned it into a livable wonder of Industrial art, preferring to not hide the fact that it was a warehouse at it's heart. He died some years ago, the art and the house was now Colleen's until recently.

"It was Dixon's daughter's before I started to rent the place. I don't understand why anyone would want to put it up for rent, but Pride managed to convince her to. I even got a great deal in the process." Colleen Dixon could not be reached for comment.

As Aramat and I spoke over fragrant teas and delicious homemade sweets made by the petite pianist, I noticed that she hadn't changed any major thing about the loft. She preferred to in her words, "Merely put her own aesthetic here and there. You can't really alter perfection for your sense of beauty."

And sure enough Aramat's aesthetic is all over the house. Shamelessly feminine touches, such as flowers, chandeliers and various shades of soft pink are in the loft as well as a wicked sense of the macabre. Various skulls are about, as well as antique medical supplies and tools, a hobby Aramat tells me she's had recently. It all contrasts really well.

Despite all the signs leading me to believe that she would live here, she's not. "I'll still live in the Pride penthouse. But I'll be using this space for entertaining guests and a hang out." When asked why would she do that when she can't live there, she answered. "Because I want a house of my own to sleep in full time."

We here at Vista City Luxury Homes are proud of that statement.
