Fairy Trials: Heroes for a cause!
Aisha Clark, TDM Magazine
In yesterday’s foray into the world of the upcoming Fairy Trials, we delved into the minds of two of our illustrious Royals: Roy Mustang and Aramat Drawdes. But Fairy Trials would not be the show that it is without its Heroes! Where the Royalty came from our very own Vista City royalty at Pride Records and Virgo Entertainment, the Heroes, perhaps appropriately, are drawn from the “common people” – men and women of Vista City who auditioned for the opportunity, vying for their roles.
The variety of Heroes is broad to say the least. It ranges from girls not yet even out of school to charming mavericks, from waitresses at corner diners to would-be actors who get so thoroughly into their roles that they never come out of character. The effect is charming, as we at TDM are sure you will agree with these two sample contestants.
First up, a girl who impressed at the auditions with her sheer pluck and positivity – not to mention her blossoming violin skills!
TDM: So tell us a little about yourself!
Chandra: Um, I'm Chandra... I'm homeschooled, and I just recently moved to Vista City! It's something I'm really excited by, since there are so many musicians who just wander around the city. Having a chance like this is really exciting!
TDM: Welcome to Vista City: Where music is almost as common as water, and you’ll find rubbing elbows with celebrities at a coffee shop only par for the course. (laugh) --Though maybe coffee is a few years into the future for you yet, hm?
Now, we know all about your skill at the violin . . . what other special skills are you bringing to this game?
Chandra: Well, I'm really active! I like jumping around, and playing games, and things like that. Since it's a show, it's not going to be anything really dangerous, so that should be enough! I've also read a ton of books about heroes, so I think that will help too.
TDM: “Know thy enemy.” Very wise, very wise, especially when one is working from a fairy tale. And certainly, as we’ve seen, joining the cast of Fairy Trials takes energy in spades! Now, I’m going to come closer here; I’m sure this is a great secret: What is your strategy for rescuing your royal? How do you plan to confront your obstacles?
Chandra: Well, it depends on the exact challenge... I think if I win over the Royal, things will be a lot easier. I've never had to impress someone like that before... Maybe if I'm just really passionate, it'll be alright...
TDM: We can only think you’re determined and spirited enough to make it happen. Thank you, Chandra. Good luck to you and your Royal! We here at TDM will be rooting for you.
Next up: A charming young man who . . . well. We can only hope this article includes pictures upon publication!
TDM: Tell us a little about yourself!
Severin: I'm Severin Dufour. I'm originally from Francia, and I came to Vista City for a dancing career. One day I hope to be known worldwide for my art.
TDM: Mm, exotic, and I detect that little hint of an accent that will drive fans wild! I foresee you being very popular here in Vista City, Severin. As the show approaches, how are you preparing?
Severin: I've never been on camera before and I'm known to be a bit shy, so I'm a bit nervous. But I'll try not to be.
TDM: Ah, nothing to be shy about! Just try to think of it as another eye, right? Watching you during a magnificent performance on your way to the top! We know you have performance in your blood; we saw your audition, and the dancing was stunning. How will you use your skills to your advantage?
Severin: You really liked it? Hopefully it's a dancing based stage, but I'll try and adapt if it doesn't.
TDM: (laugh) So modest! It was gorgeous! We can only hope it’s a dancing challenge as well if we get to see more of your art.
I have to ask the questions on the mind of every fan: How is it to work with such an incredible cast? Have you bonded with any of the musicians? Do tell!
Severin: ...What is this question supposed to mean? But anyway, it was one of my goals to work beside the artists of Virgo and Pride. Granted, it's not the way I would like it, but it's truly a dream come true. I haven't really gotten to know the musicians yet, I've been busy making sure my time in Fairy Trials will not be one of failure.
TDM: Intimacy, my friend – with the fans, it’s all about the intimacy. After all, as a Hero, you stand for the dreams of all of us less fortunate commoners. Please bear our hearts well! Thank you for your time – and did I mention that you’ll be popular?
With regret, we must move on from our interviews – but such contestants we have this year! Be sure to check in with us here at TDM for all the latest in continuing coverage as the star-studded event of the year begins in full!
