Seeing her face on that tiny card. She wasn't particularly fond of the clothes, but rules were rules and she had to obey the rules the Masked Men gave. They seemed to be in charge of this world.

Eventually, she's forced to experiment with the communicator after several days of wandering. This leads to incomprehensible text messages that look like someone pounded on the letters, followed soon after by voice messages with only the sound of background noises and breathing.

Hello there! Where would I require a "Personal Trainer Certificate"? I was told I needed one to train.

You're still a trainer. But if you want to get paid for being one you need to get the certificate. That's how the people here know that you're one.

You can, but they might not believe you.

[They would, personally. She obviously knows how. But if you're trying to be a trainer for a job, there's gotta be more to it than just that.]

That's what the test is for. Because only a trainer can pass it.

So then I need "money" to take the test.

[That doesn't really strike Frisk as fair; how do you get money for the test if you can't get a job until you've taken it? Maybe she'll just have to do some other job for a little bit. Frisk themself doesn't have that much money, so they can't really help.]

[Sometimes you can just ask people too, but Frisk's not sure they'd try that around here. People don't seem all that generous...come to think of it, have they even seen any poor people in this city?]

[Circular logic was a concept the Trainer was fond of staying hidden in. It was easy enough to avoid looking at the ways the circles diverted into other shapes and directions.]

I think you're going to have to get a different job before you can do that. So you can pay for the test, remember?

[This lady looks older than them, but she doesn't seem to understand a whole lot. She must be from a really different world.]

All you have to do is find a store or a restaurant or someplace that says they're hiring and ask them if you can have a job. If it's a small one they won't need much else. Try to find something like cleaning or being a waitress. That's easy to get.

[Oh, that's true. This is a very smart child. She hopes they've been keeping up in their fitness. They'd already done such a good job earlier.]

[Also, it's occurred to Frisk that a job like waitressing involves talking to people. That's why they didn't try it. This lady maybe shouldn't do that right away either.]
