Voice | Jobhunting and potential existential crises
[It took her a long time to figure out any of the supplies she'd be given. She hadn't bothered to grab food or drink, but she couldn't resist looking over the other items. It was, well, interesting. Seeing her face on that tiny card. She wasn't particularly fond of the clothes, but rules were rules and she had to obey the rules the Masked Men gave. They seemed to be in charge of this world.
Eventually, she's forced to experiment with the communicator after several days of wandering. This leads to incomprehensible text messages that look like someone pounded on the letters, followed soon after by voice messages with only the sound of background noises and breathing.
Only after seeing several other messages does she grasp the basics.]
Hello there! Where would I require a "Personal Trainer Certificate"? I was told I needed one to train.

Hello there! Where would I require a "Personal Trainer Certificate"? I was told I needed one to train.

[ That question really threw her for a loop. ]
no subject
[She considers this.]
Like rules?

no subject
Why would they need to make new rules?
no subject
I guess they don't get the rules right the first time, or something new comes up.
no subject
This seems like a reasonable explanation. It also confirms that the outside world can't get things right the first time, thus confirming several biases of unhealthy living.]
What sort of rules do they have here?
[Agent 3 is trapped in the Trainer's search for knowledge, many apologies.]
no subject
[ Maybe she should look up what laws Vista City has. ]

You're doing great work! Keep it up!

[ Encouragement and motivation is something she can do. ]

Where would I get money?

[Mission accomplished!]
no subject
[....wait a second]
Is that here?
no subject
[So no, not here.]
no subject
You're still a trainer. But if you want to get paid for being one you need to get the certificate. That's how the people here know that you're one.
no subject
Can't I just tell them I'm a trainer?
no subject
[They would, personally. She obviously knows how. But if you're trying to be a trainer for a job, there's gotta be more to it than just that.]
no subject
But I'm a professional trainer.
no subject
That's what the test is for. Because only a trainer can pass it.
no subject
So then I need "money" to take the test.
no subject
[That doesn't really strike Frisk as fair; how do you get money for the test if you can't get a job until you've taken it? Maybe she'll just have to do some other job for a little bit. Frisk themself doesn't have that much money, so they can't really help.]
no subject
[She's not great at understanding the Masked Men directions. Sorry Frisk.]
no subject
[Sometimes you can just ask people too, but Frisk's not sure they'd try that around here. People don't seem all that generous...come to think of it, have they even seen any poor people in this city?]
no subject
[Circular logic was a concept the Trainer was fond of staying hidden in. It was easy enough to avoid looking at the ways the circles diverted into other shapes and directions.]

[This lady looks older than them, but she doesn't seem to understand a whole lot. She must be from a really different world.]
All you have to do is find a store or a restaurant or someplace that says they're hiring and ask them if you can have a job. If it's a small one they won't need much else. Try to find something like cleaning or being a waitress. That's easy to get.
no subject
I understand. I have to try different kinds of training first before taking the test.
no subject
I bet you'd like cleaning. It's pretty good exercise.
[Also, it's occurred to Frisk that a job like waitressing involves talking to people. That's why they didn't try it. This lady maybe shouldn't do that right away either.]

Great work!
no subject
[They guess.]
Good luck! Let me know if you can't find a job and maybe I can help.

[Follow-up questions are hard around authority figures.]

It was not possible to find out where you could acquire one while you were there?
