With flashy colored, vibrant eyes being the new fashion craze among rising music stars, it’s no surprise that sooner or later, musicians were going to start outdoing themselves. While at first these fashions seemed subtle and were seemingly discarded by some, or even wearing sunglasses to create mystery for their fans, others took to announcing them with pride. And while initially, the craze spread among those with somewhat poorer reputations, it seems that it’s branched out much further.

And it seems like Nia Teppelin, the new lead guitarist for Surviving Friday, is trying to rebrand the concept. Appearing Friday night at the local night club Anemone, Nia made it a point to show off her take on the latest new fashion. Posing for selfies with her growing number of fans, she made it clear to everyone around that she is taking the fashion for herself. Sporting a blue dress with embroidered pink flowers, she treated her eyes like an accessory. The up and coming princess of pop was excited to share with us her take on the new style.

“I am not going to fall behind the trends,” she confided, “but I am also not going to make people think I am possessed. That would be a terrible influence on my fans, right? I don’t want that—they should be able to listen to my music without worrying about that sort of thing. It’s important to make a style your own, and this is how I’m doing it.”
