Fairy Trials: Royal interviews!

Fairy Trials: Interviews with the Royals
Aisha Clark, TDM Magazine

As all eager fans know, upcoming is the greatest episode of Fairy Trials yet seen since the show first aired – and that’s saying something! In the past, Fairy Trial has hosted illustrious talent such as author and comedian George Paul Frederickson, fashion desginer Alina Coutre, and five time soccer MVP Vincent Moralez.

But this season: What a show! This season features none other than Vista City’s own royals: The musicians of Pride Records and Virgo Entertainment as kings and queens, princes and princesses! They will be vied for by common citizens of Vista City after a no holds barred competition of personality and skill. (Rumor has it that even some of the musicians have been woven into the Hero role!)

This article is the first of two: Two delicious sets of interviews with both Royals and Heroes! TDM gives you the inside story straight from the lips of those living the dream.

First off, Roy Mustang of Manticore, whose mere name causes some women to swoon . . .

TDM: So Roy . . . What made you choose to enter this star-studded episode of Fairy Trials?

Roy: I first heard about the show when my manager came to me and offered this chance to make an appearance. So I watched an episode and that was all it took. I was on board immediately when I found out what this show is. Who in their right mind would pass up the opportunity to live in a fairytale for a day? I’ve always liked stories about love finding a way and good triumphing over evil. Not to mention when you’re a royal you get to wear a fancy crown.

TDM: (laugh) I’m sure there are a number of our readers who would love that themselves! That’s part of what makes Fairy Trials so addictive, I think; it allows viewers to place themselves back in their fantasies. So tell me, just between us: Will you help or hinder your hero?

Roy: I’m going to help. I bet it would be amusing to play around and make things tricky for the hero but I’d feel bad if I made someone fail while I was fooling around. In fact if my partner has the determination for it, I’d like to aim for a win and the championship round. I’ve been assigned the Tin Soldier challenge which will involve defeating a Goblin at the finale. I don’t want to give away too much but let’s just say that I’m going to have my partner’s back all the way to the end.

TDM: So noble – and nothing less expected if all the tabloid rumors are true! Now, I don’t want to take up your time, but I must as a question on everyone’s mind . . . tell us about your style for the event.

Roy: In the original story the Tin Soldier is in love with a Paper Ballerina, which is the royal role I play. I don’t make such a great ballerina apparently. (laugh) So the costume department has dressed me up more like royalty but in lighter colors and fabric that sort of show a connection to that ballerina character. Not really what a metal artist regularly wears but I like to think I can pull it off.

TDM: (laugh) Something more elegant, maybe, than a tutu! Thank you so much for your time, Roy.

And next, the lady Aramat Drawdes from Crown of Thorns:

TDM: Such a pleasure to meet you in person! I can tell you I personally am a huge fan of your work. Now Aramat, you have such a sense of style, and rumor has it that you’ll be wearing something very special. Any hints for an eager public?

Aramat: I can't give away the theme of it as of yet, but it's sure to be dreamy, romantic and very much like spring. It's a stunning costume they made for me and once y'all see it, you'll be in love with it as I am.

TDM: I know I, for one, can’t wait. Social media is already buzzing about it, so I know I’m not alone. Along similar lines with your style preferences, what would be your dream fairy tale to see acted out on the show?

Aramat: It's not really a fairy tale, but I've always been interested in The Legend of Sleepy Hollow. It would be great for that to be a stage, or at least for Halloween.

TDM: And so spooky! Let’s hope they take you up on that! Are there any Heroes that you have your eye on and hope to be paired with?

Aramat: Not really. I never got to know the heroes as well as I should. It might change though.

TDM: You heard it here first, dear readers: The lady Aramat is looking for a Hero. Better make your best first impression!
