[.... Something about that actually makes her laugh, though it's a very wet, hiccupy sort of noise right about now. For Garnet, Nariko actually drags herself up and opens her door. Her room is a complete and utter mess, most of the furniture is overturned, if possible, and she did her best to get her mattress out the window.]

[Nariko feels incredibly terrible for having messed up her room, like she's going to be scolded or something. At least she'd deserve it.]

[But she does hug Garnet back, and that's a good sign, if an ultimately cautious one.]

They're going to replace him but no one else could be good enough.

I'm not sure how I'm not supposed to hate them on sight.

[In most cases honesty would be a benefit, but here it's just - well, it's just going to make things worse.] ... I'll try, though.

[Mostly just for Garnet, because Nariko would sooner go without anyone taking Richard's place then adjust to someone new, someone they didn't start all of this with. They'd come from incredibly different avenues but they had worked. She couldn't imagine that chemistry lightning struck twice.]

[She nods, smiling reassuringly at Nariko.]

That's all I ask. It isn't their fault, whoever the greenhorn will be. I know...if I had a choice, I'd have Rich here. If any of us had that choice, I know that. But...let's not make whoever we get feel like they're the problem. They aren't. You know?

We keep going. Wherever he is, Richard St. Vier will be proud of us.
