Drumming up a little fighting? You bet!
by Heidi Keys
Move over, Ice Queen, there's a new contender in town! Or at least that's what fans of Pride Record's latest band Crown of Thorns are saying all over the internet. The band's eighteen year old classically trained violinist is just one of many new faces gracing the lineups of both Pride Records and Virgo Entertainment. And like some of her bandmates she's already managing to turn heads and gain a reputation for her frosty attitude.
This news comes in the wake of a rumored meeting between Defying Atmosphere's own Ice Queen, Lenneth, and Crown of Thorns' Mai at the South Vista Music Fest. The two women supposedly shared a distantly cool chat that one observer described as, "Very intense. You could practically feel the sparks flying!". The Crown of Thorns' violinist has even taken up the handle @theicequeen on twitter in what most fans of Lenneth see as a 'direct declaration of superiority'.
A Defying Atmosphere fan argued when questioned during the South Vista Music Fest that, "It's just an insult, you know? Lenneth was here first and obviously is more deserving of the title. She just has that icy charm and stately demeanor that screams royalty. Besides, Crown of Thorns pseudo classical sound is so boring that I'm not even going to bother to try to listen to them. Lenneth is the only queen for me!"
Only time will tell what may become of this feud between queens. Fans are eagerly looking forward to new albums and this time could really make or break Crown of Thorns when it comes to the competition for sales and prestige against the older and better known bands like Defying Atmosphere.
Will this battle between icy divas help or harm the two bands in the end? Tell us what you think!
