Star Coast Exclusive Interviews!
Celebrating the New Year, Star Coast has made one big mega issue. Included in it are interviews with rising stars Ivan Karelin, Greg Universe, and Tamara Dawdes!
The subject: one fantastic Mister Universe, the shooting star of Defying Atmosphere!
Q: So, Mister Universe, you and the notorious ice queen Meril are some of the hottest celebrities in the business right now! Did you ever imagine that you’d rise this high this fast when you first signed on with Virgo, and how do you feel about it?
A: I absolutely always believed I’d be able to get this far. Music’s all I’ve ever wanted to do, long as I can remember, and I haven’t dreamed of anything less. But getting here feels completely different than I expected! Does that make sense? [laughs] Nothing could have prepared me for the reality of it. It’s everything I ever hoped for, and then some.
Q: Sounds like you’re taking to it like a fish to water! Defying Atmosphere has gone through some changes lately, however, isn’t that right? New members to the band. Have you met them yet, and what are your thoughts?
A: Yeah! Kokoro, Marty and Rarity are all really great people, and talented to boot. It’s a pretty wild mix of personalities, but that’s what makes it exciting; everyone’s bringing new ideas to the table, and we’re stronger for it. Our music will be just as harmonious as we are, promise.
Q: That’s good to hear. I know a lot of fans would be heartbroken if DA broke apart so soon! Moving on, I have it on good authority that you’ll be taking part in the Double S Charity Concert that’s due to happen at the end of the month. Can you tell us how that works and how you’re involved?
A: It’s pretty straightforward, on paper. I’ve got the name another musician who’s signed up, and I’m supposed to write a song about them before the concert hits. The real challenge is, we’ve barely talked before! It’s a little stressful, just since I want to make something that won’t let them down. But I’m making sure to have fun with it, so I’m hoping the end product is just as enjoyable for everyone to hear.
Q: Oh wow, looks like you drew the short straw there, but it’s encouraging to hear that you’re still as bouncy as ever. 10 out of 10 fans say it’s your best trait. [laugh] Would you agree with that?
A: Wow, all 10? I was sure some would go for the rugged good looks. [laugh] No, uhh. I dunno if I can say anything on that. I’m just glad whatever it is I’m doing works!
Q: People look for a good personality just as much as good looks, Greg, but it looks like you’re doing great in that area too! As we finish up, is there anything you think is important for your fans to remember and keep in mind?
A: Look up more. The sky is a mirror, and we’re all stars.
