Musician Werewolf Consorting with Darker Powers?

Readers may remember that last month the Vista City Arcane covered a story about the Crown of Thorns violinist Mai. We brought you a hard hitting bit of news about her secret dual life as a lycanthropic beast. And this month the Arcane has even more reason to spread the word about this musician.

You see, dear followers of the occult world, Mai? Is no mere werewolf. She is in fact a rare breed of witch known as a Hexenwulfen, hailing from the old world tradition of black magic. It's no ordinary curse, as this reporter found out, but a completely voluntary work of spellcraft. By forming a contract with a rage spirit, the Hexenwulfen is capable of changing into a Werewolf at will.

How do you know, Harry, the reader must be thinking. Well, sources inside Pride Records indicate that Mai has been absent from all functions for several weeks now, but animal attacks in and around the area have increased tenfold. More to the point, the monstrous near-man form of this beastly magician has been spotted in various places around town...and if you check your almanacs, you might notice something odd. There's no full moon.

After further investigation, various spell components were found discarded near the Pride penthouses, lending further credence to the theory. More notes are needed on the exact nature, but as always fellow fans of the Weird, the Arcane will check on things for you. Check back next month for more!
